Who ate all the pies? I did! Couldn’t resist, straight from the oven at R Carter & Son in Bamburgh
It’s been another fantastic week for food, I’m in no danger of going hungry on this trip that’s for sure! As my journey took me from the North East coast, through Hull and East Yorkshire and on to Cumbria and the Lakes, I have sampled some of the finest local produce I’ve ever come across.
From pork pies to Michelin star tasting menus, every mouthful was a delicious reminder of the diverse menu our country has to offer! Here are some of this week’s highlights…

Homemade scones at The Forge in Allendale

It’s never too cold for Vallum Farm Ice Cream

Local lamb at The Cellar Door in Durham

My yummy omelette really hit the spot at Drewtons, an award-winning farm shop in South Cave. Everything on the menu is sourced in Yorkshire!

Spoilt for choice at Betty’s Tea Room in Harrogate, no idea how my lovely waitress Pepita is so slim after 26 years service!

I made these scrumptious truffles myself at York’s Sweet Story

The catch of the day was sea trout after my haaf net fishing experience in Cumbria!

One of the delicate dishes from my five course tasting menu at L’Enclume in the magical village of Cartmel
I wonder what next week’s menu will consist of? I’ve been a bit spoilt this week so maybe I need to rustle up a few dishes in the camper van, any suggestions? Bear in mind I only have two hobs and a grill!
